Winter is my least favorite season and it's also when I'm at my palest. It's cold - I mean, extremely cold. Did I mention that it's cold? I am also the color of frosty the snowman and I have to wear way too many layers. Here's six things every winter hater knows to be true.
1. Having to wear several layers just to go outside is a hassle in itself.
It's annoying to to have to put on a t-shirt, a long sleeve shirt, a jacket, a ski jacket, then a scarf, all just to go outside and walk to your care. All of that is annoying to try to put together in a short amount of time. Meanwhile for your pants, you have to wear jeans and long-johns under your jeans which is totally uncomfortable and unnecessary. Like who wants to wear that much clothing, just to go outside?
2. Having to scrape ice off your car is a pain.
You wake up, get your coffee, and you start getting ready for work. You shower and start your morning routine. As soon as you walk out the door, you look at your car, and you realize that you forgot to let it defrost. Then you are sitting outside for a solid 10 minutes, trying to scrape off all the ice that has accumulated overnight on your car windshield.
3. You're pale.
Now for most of you, I know that you probably won't care, but for me, I hate being pale. Being pale is the essence of my ugliness, and in the wintertime you can't just casually lay out whenever you want. Having a tan brings out your complexion and you glow, and everyone looks good with a tan. Now I know some can't tan, but everybody gets a little color during the summer!
4. You can't dress up.
When I go out with my friends, I'm usually wearing my huge, white, puffy jacket. It's the only thing that keeps me warm when I go out, along with my gloves and scarfs that I have to wear so I don't die of frostbite. When I do try to dress up, I usually have to end up freezing because my outfit is typically not suited for the bitter cold.
5. Your skin is dry.
When its -2 degrees, you have too constantly put on lotion. Your applying lotion on your face, hands, and legs all the time. If you don't, your skin starts to peel and it becomes a pain to deal with. Your face gets dry and it starts to peel. It kinds feels like your a snake shedding off dead skin. Who wants to be like a snake?
6. It's cold and flu season
When you hit January and February, everyone falls out with the flu or a cold. Half of your college campus is wiped out because they're all dying from a cold. Even your professor is sniffling and sneezing the whole time during his lecture. So then you have to wash your hands about 20 times, just so you don't get sick.
The winter is always the toughest part of the year. Everyone is bundled up and freezing. It's hard to make the best of it, but sometimes it's the only thing you can do!
