Disneyland fanatics know the park like the back of their hand. I mean, we know ever feel and every fact about the happiest place on Earth. Out of the dozens of unknown pathways, secret facts, myths, stories and legends, here are five things every Disneyland native can tell you:
1. Disneyland employees are not allowed to point.
Disneyland caters to dozens of differentiating cultures, some of which consider it rude to point. Therefore, when assisting with directions, singling out a ride, etc. employees have to use two fingers to direct visitors. Even the man himself, Walt Disney, is seen holding up two fingers instead of one.
2. That unexplainable nostalgic feeling you get during the World of Color.
We all remember religiously watching our favorite Disney movies on our VHS players while cuddled up on our parent's massive bed as kids. Witnessing those characters all at once during the World of Color brings back feelings of simpler times. Basically, the same feeling comfort food gives us.
3. Club 33.
Everyone who has ridden the Pirates of the Caribbean boat ride has always wished to have dinner in the Blue Bayou, a restaurant strategically placed inside the ride. Though, after begging your parents to take you to eat there, the place always ends up being completely reserved for the next eight years. Many aren't aware of the restaurant above the Blue Bayou, known as Club 33. Only Disney members and employees are eligible to eat at the establishment, and you really have to know someone to get in. Plus, they're the only place in the park that serves alcohol. ;) Club 33 is among the few five-star restaurants in Orange County.
4. The. New. Princesses.
You're wandering around the park and notice this strange occurrence. All the little girls are dressed as Elsa, Tiana, and Rapunzel. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OGs?! Ya know? Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel? It's awesome that Disney is creating new, unique and diverse characters, but let's not forget about the ones who started it all.
5. The Tiki Room's soft serve.
Walking out of Adventureland to Main Street, you notice all of those exhausted-looking parents with their babies and toddlers who are likewise borderline knocked out. You must be at the Tiki Tiki Tiki Room! Here lies the most magical soft serve you'll ever experience in your entire life—Dole's Pineapple Soft Serve.
6. Indecisive and Impractical.
So you bought your hopper pass, and here comes the question..."Which park do you want to visit today, Disneyland or California Adventure?" "Uhhhhhhh..." Then all of a sudden your indecisiveness results in a resolution that sort of goes like this, "Well let's go to Disneyland for half the day and California Adventure for the other half." WRONG. We all know that's exhausting and by the time you get on the shuttle, you'll be dead.
