Brad Paisley made sure that Elliot Hall was packed to the brim with screaming Boilermakers ready to hear their favorite country songs on February 7th. In honor of Brad Paisley's trip to Purdue I thought I would do some digging and find the little known facts of the talented Brad Paisley.
1. Too many to choose from. Paisley has written thousands of songs in his career. I cannot even imagine picking one to call your favorite. But Brad definitely has one: "Alcohol," which was released in 2005. It is quite ironic because Paisley does not necessarily drink alcohol. His favorite beverage is Yoo-Hoo chocolate milk.
2. Brad is a Daddy’s boy. Mr. Paisley travels everywhere with his son. Whether it is award shows, concerts or talk shows, he is always there by his side. There are often pictures of Brad shown with an older man in the background. His father sometimes likes to photobomb his son’s pictures to gain some publicity himself.
3. Brad doesn’t keep his award trophies. People sometimes say that celebrities are greedy, but Brad is quite humble. Paisley hands all of his hardware off to his parents. "I don't like reminders of the past all that much," he says. "Nor do I have time to dust or polish the trophies, so my parents take care and display most of them at their house." The only thing he keeps at home are his many guitars.
4. Blind dates might actually work. Brad is happily married to Kimberly Williams, however it was not love at first sight. It was a blind date set up by Kim’s manager. Brad proposed to Kim in a sneaky way. She thought he was in Nashville at a No. 1 party. She went to a fake meeting in L.A. with a potential new publicist, and Paisley showed up, instead, to propose.
5. Boilermaker connections. Brad Paisley was born in 1972 in Glen Dale, W. Vir. This is the same year Purdue beat Indiana in football 42-7. Also that year, Otis Armstrong was elected into the College Football Hall of Fame. Brad Paisley’s high school, John Marshall High School, has the same colors as Purdue: black and gold.
Brad’s catchy songs are quite relatable to college students and are perfect for a college campus concert. West Lafayette is happy to welcome Brad Paisley on Feb. 7 for a great show.
