Ah, it is finally here! The countdown to summer has been going basically since the first time it snowed, and now it is finally here. The last few weeks of school were both emotionally and physically draining, as panic set in and everyone busted tail to cram for their last exams and save their final grades. Finally though, the work is done and the best time of year has arrived.

1. You have rediscovered your favorite Netflix shows

After being forced to neglect all of your favorite shows and movies for the past few weeks because of school, you are finally free to binge watch your days away with no stress because there are no assignments due anywhere in the near future.

2. You have already managed to ruin your sleep schedule

Probably due to the fact that you have rediscovered Netflix, or maybe just because you no longer have any dreaded 8:15's, you've been staying up late and in turn waking up long after the sun has risen. Your parents make jokes about you going into hibernation, but hey. After the finals you just took, you've earned 12+ hours a sleep a night if you want it!

3. You text your college best friend multiple times a day

One of the not so fun parts of summer is separating from the people you've grown close to while away. Not having your best friend five minutes away is a difficult thing to deal with. So, you'll make it work by texting each other play by plays of each other's days, complaining about annoying things in your hometown, snap-chatting even more than usual, and occasionally breaking down and telling them how much you miss them. Although you'll both eventually get re-acclimated with your individual lives away from each other, at least for the first couple of weeks apart a constant stream of contact is completely necessary for survival.

4. Living at home feels a little weird

You spent your first 18 years here, so it should be perfectly normal to be back in the bed you've slept in for as long as you remember. It is weird having to pause and think about where the silverware is, and it is definitely weird when someone asks you if you've cleaned your room lately. After having 100 percent freedom for the past year, it can be a little strange getting back in the swing of living under your parents' roof. Telling someone where you are going and when you'll be back can be annoying, (love you Mom and Dad) but you'll be back at school before you know it missing all of the home cooked meals you get to enjoy for the summer.

5. You have free time you don't know what to do with

When studying, classes, and other college activities are no longer part of your daily routine, there is a surprising amount of free time. It can be overwhelming when the world is suddenly at your fingertips. The opportunities are endless, and you've got all summer to do all your favorite summer things. Take your time deciding, and if in the process of making that decision you take a nap, so be it.

Summer always seems to go too fast, no matter how hard we try not to let it slip away. It is your time to relax, have fun, and get ready for the semester ahead. Catch up with old friends, make new memories, and enjoy it. We've only got so many summers left before we enter the real world and summer is just a time of year when it's hot outside.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
