We all love to be home from college but we always miss a lot of things at college when we are home from school for the summer. Here are 11 things a college student misses about college.

1. Your Roommates

Once you leave your roommates you feel like you can't live without them for three months! They were always there for you when you were having a breakdown about anything. They would never judge you for looking like a slob because we never gave a crap about how we looked while we were with each other.

2. Sorority or Fraternity

These women and men have been by your side since you joined your organization and helped you every step of the way. You'll miss going to chapter meetings every week and having fun activities with other fraternities or sororities. You'll miss having to do community service projects that have to do with your Philanthropy. And you'll miss just hanging out with everyone or miss seeing one of your sisters/ brothers on campus. You will miss always having someone to say hi to.

3. Your Dorm Room Bed

Every time I would come home on a break or for the weekend, I would always miss my dorm bed! Even though my bed at home is way more comfortable than the one at school! You just miss the way you have to lay to get comfy.

4. Late Nights with your Friends

Having the most amazing time with your friends at college where all you do is eat a shit ton of food and laugh all night! Or go out and all come stumbling in laughing hysterically on the events that took place that night.

5. Freedom

Going back home is like going back to jail sometimes. You may have to follow certain rules that your parents have put into place and you always say, " I wish I was back at school so no one could tell me what to do."

6. Random events giving away FREE stuff

Every college kid loves the word free! We love free anything, free food, free Tshirts, free anything!

7. Meal plans and flex!

Having a meal plan and/or flex dollars, you don't have to worry about carrying around cash to pay for things. But when you're home you have to worry about having enough money to pay for things.

8. Not having to work!

At school you could just lay around in your room when you finished your homework and not having to worry about rushing to go to work!

9. Sleeping in (if you don't take early classes)

When I'm at school I make sure that I never take any early classes so I could sleep in! But not that I'm home from school the only sleeping in late I get is on the weekends since I'm working everyday.

10. Everything that was walking distance

Now that you're home you have to worry about getting to places that you need to go. If I wanted to go to a party I would have to find a ride there and back... now thats too complicated, when you are at school you can just walk there if it was on campus!

11. Our beautiful campus!

I miss walking around campus and seeing how gorgeous it is and how the statues and sculptures are absolutely gorgeous. I wouldn't have my school any other way!

As a college kid you miss so much when you are at home. But its always good to be home and spend time with your family and friends.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
