5 Thank You's To My Boyfriend
glamour.com

Every time I would read a post on here that was some girl gushing about her boyfriend, I would always roll my eyes and ask myself why. Why are girls in college so obsessed with their boyfriends? Why didn't they have anything else in their lives that they wanted to write about? Were they really that inspired by these guys?

Well, I'm about to be one of those girls and here's why; It isn't that us college girls are obsessed with our boyfriends, but rather that we deal with a lot and the guys in our lives love and support us despite our mood swings and crankiness. So here it is; my stereotypical college girl article about how much I love and appreciate my boyfriend. If you don't want to vomit from cuteness, I suggest you stop reading now, just saying.

So to my boyfriend: here are 5 small things that you do for me that deserve a thank you.

1. Coffee and Food

I live off of coffee and on the go. Between working 35 hours a week (disclaimer: I work at Starbucks) and going to school 5 times a week, it is a necessity. Even after a 12-hour work day, you always make sure that I have coffee and that I have eaten. Some days, if it wasn't for you packing me lunch, I would go the entire day without eating. So thank you for all the chicken nuggets and extra ranch.

2. Believing In Me When I Don't Believe In Myself

Between school, work, friends, family, extracurricular and everything else that a college student has to deal with there are plenty of times throughout the semester that I feel like I can't do it anymore. You always tell me that I can, in fact, do it and ensure that it will all pay off in the long run when I have my dream job and all of these stressful days and nights seem trivial.

3. Hugs

Yes, I am a 21-year-old college student. Yes, I require hugs throughout my day. No, I am not embarrassed by that. The fact that I can call you and say that I just need a hug without you laughing at me is the best. Sometimes after a long day, all you need is someone to hug you and tell you everything is okay.

4. Trusting me

I've learned that trust is probably the most important thing in a relationship. It is also important that while we have our lives together, that we also are able to have our own hobbies and interests and be our own people. So thank you for trusting me to live my own life and go out with my friends after a long week. Sometimes all you need is a night with your girls to get through a tough time.

5. Letting Me Be Me, and Still Loving Me

Through my moodiness, crankiness and all the mental breakdowns, you still love me. Even when I take out my anger about school or work on you, you still love me. When I realize that I yelled at you for something that wasn't your fault and I apologize, you're always so understanding.

So to my boyfriend, thank you for the small things. They aren't irrelevant and don't go unnoticed.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
