Growing up with a sister has truly been a blessing and a curse. I know I will always have someone in my corner supporting me as well as someone who will be there to point out the many pimples on my face. Over the years I have noticed recurring messages between my sister and I. It seems I am not the only one who tends to go through this bout of messages either. Here are 10 text messages that completely sum up what having a sister is all about.

1. Message of Confidence

Sometimes you feel like nothing is going your way and really need that pick me up. This is when having a sister really comes to the rescue. They may know all your embarrassing stories from childhood, have a plethora of bad photos of you

2. Did You Eat My Food?

Family members in general are notorious for eating each others leftovers, but leave it to sisters to negotiate an appropriate means of an apology. Sisters, where saying sorry isn't enough!

3. Where is my...?

Every sister probably holds this message somewhere in their phone, or some rendition of it. That moment when you go into your closet to grab a pair of shoes, a shirt, or jacket only to realize it is not in your possession. First suspect is always the sister! Of course they try to justify their reason for taking them, but sadly they come up short. Which reminds me, I still don't have those shoes back!

4. The "How Are We Related?"

You can always count on sisters to pester you with small annoying text messages in the middle of your day as well. As if they do not pick on you enough when you are together, but to harass you through messages just takes it a whole step further. It is these small things though that can help distract you from your chaotic day, no matter how annoying they may seem, it is nice having a random message from a sister.

5. Sisterly Love

There are those moments when having a sister really comes in handy. When that stupid boy comes around and breaks your heart, friends will try to take you out and help you forget, but your sister knows exactly what you need. Sending you a message to assure you that when you get home you will have someone there waiting for you with your comfort package of your favorite foods, a little wine, mixed with a teddy bear, and a blanket your mom made.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
