5 Summer Events Coming To New Jersey
Hubspot

Sometimes when going back home after the college school year, we find it difficult to keep ourselves occupied. New Jersey has a lot to offer. We just have to search for it! Check out some of the events coming to you soon, and make plans with your friends to make this summer the best that it can be!

1. Slide the City

This summer may be worse than others as far as heat and what other ways to cool off would be better than to ride down a giant water slide all day? West Orange, N.J., is bringing a 1,000-foot water slide to Mount Pleasant Avenue and Main Street during the West Orange Street Fair.

Some may think this humongous water slide is just a way to get people to cool off during the hot days throughout the summer, but Slide the City actually has a much more important purpose — sustainability! The slide is designed in a way that results in the water being recirculated back into the community and decreases the amount of everyday water usage.

Help the West Orange community with friends at Slide the City on Saturday, June 4, 2016! You can get your tickets at https://www.slidethecity.com.

2. Hot97 Summer Jam

One of the livest summer concerts for hip-hop radio is Hot97's Summer Jam. Hosts Ebro, Nessa and Funk Master Flex are bringing you some of the most recognized artists in the game!

On June 5, 2016 in East Rutherford, N.J., you can find artists like Chance the Rapper, Tinashe, Desiigner and many more tearing up the stadium and festival stages! At this concert you will have the opportunity to hear different sub genres of hip-hop ranging from Trap to R&B. This concert will meet all of your hip-hop needs. Not to mention the car show and much more!

If you are interested in the lineup, take a look at billboard.com. The show starts at 6:30 p.m., so make sure to get your tickets as soon as possible at ticketmaster.com.

3. Jersey Shore Food Truck Festival

If you have an obsession with food like I do, then you should make sure to mark your calendar for Monmouth Park's Jersey Shore Food Truck Festival!

On May 28, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be a plethora of food trucks. Approximately 36 food trucks will be attending the event and entertainment will also be provided. Craving something sweet? Stop by for cupcakes! Craving something fulfilling? Come over with your family and friends to pick up a cheesesteak or just about anything with bacon!

Food is a great way to bring people together! For more information visit events.funnewjersey.com.

4. Who's Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience

Although the King of Pop may have passed away, his spirit still lives among us through his music and those who continue his legacy!

Mercer County, N.J., is bringing Michael Jackson back with the Who's Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience. If you are a Michael Jackson fan with an urge to relive some of your most memorable MJ moments with other like-minded fans, then this is the concert for you!

On June 5, 2016, impersonators will be exerting energy to its audience members with throwback hits like "Thriller" and "Bad." Make sure you are there to dance and sing along with every note!

The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m., so be sure to visit mercercountyparks.org for tickets!

5. Radio 104.5 Birthday Show

Along New Jersey's Camden waterfront will be the Radio 104.5 Birthday Show where you can jam out to some of your favorite alternative rock talents!

Unfortunately, the first night featuring Twenty One Pilots is sold out, but there is still one more night to celebrate! On June 17, 2016 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., bands such as Florence + the Machine, The Lumineers and many more will be performing at the BB&T Pavilion (formerly known as the Susquehanna Banks Center).

Many things bring people together like food, but music is on the top of that list. Bring your friends or bring yourself and make friends! It will be a great night so get your tickets and info at radio1045.iheart.com.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
