The mini summer check list.

5 Things To Do Before Summer Ends

Summer always seems to be the shortest time period that comes around. After the hustle and bustle of fall, winter and spring, summer seems to barely start by the time it ends. A lot of people spend the summer working away since they find more time on their hands, but there are some specific summer-fun activities that should happen in order to give yourself a break, loosen up, and enjoy some relaxing moments before it's too late. Here are five things to do before the summer ends and life gets back to the busy months again:

1. Go on a ride trip

It might seem stereotypical, but a road trip to a fun destination is a part of making summer time memories. It could be near or it could be far; it could be to somewhere famous or it could be to your Aunt Patty's house, either way, a road trip with family or some close friends is the perfect way to have some bonding time and sing along to songs you love with the people you're closest to. After all, it isn't the destination that counts, but the journey.

2. Ride the Ferris wheel at the carnival

After all, if you went to the carnival and didn't ride the Ferris wheel, did you really go to the carnival? This is just one of those "check it off the list" items that needs to happen before the summer ends and the carnival rides are packed away again. The best time to do it would be at sunset, and if you're lucky, your car will stop at the top while they are loading in new people, and you can get an eye full of the beautiful landscape and sun set around you. Even if you're afraid of heights, nothing can beat the look of a fresh summer night and vibrant colors all around you through the sky.

3. Teach yourself something new

Teaching yourself something new can be really rewarding. It could be anything, like a new song on an instrument, trying a new recipe, taking an art class- the possibilities are endless. After teaching yourself and realizing you did it all on your own while having fun, you'll get a really rewarding feeling. And you'll have bragging rights when you go back to work. Even if it's just twinkle twinkle on the piano, that's one more song than your co-worker knows, and you learned it all by yourself.

4. Go to the concert you've been dying to see

The summer isn't getting any longer, and you've put this off for multiple years now. What a better time than now to go see your favorite band, pop singer, or musician live and in the flesh? You'll make some serious memories being front row, close enough to have your idol's sweat fall on you, and be connected on the same level of excitement as the screaming fans around you who are just as awe struck as you. Or, if the crazy dance party in the front isn't for you, a roomy lawn seat to sit back and enjoy the music will do just as nicely. Which ever way you prefer, you don't want to wait for another summer to pass by as your favorite musicians tour around you. Get those tickets You won't regret it.

5. Don't forget to smell the roses

Among all the fun you'll have this summer and all the hours you'll get to work, don't forget to pause every once in a while before the summer ends. Sometimes, a day to just sit at home and read a book, visit a neighbor, or just do nothing is needed. Life can get pretty crazy as we move through it. Taking the time to yourself is essential, and a "must" before the summer comes to a close.

There are endless things to do over the summer and so little time to do it. At the end of the day, however, if you feel you've HAD a summer instead of feeling like you're summer was lost, then you're doing it right.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
