5 Steps To Achieve The Perfect Summer Body

Anyone who frequents social media has probably seen this photo over the past few weeks:

This man took to Facebook to express his feelings of disgust after trying on his girlfriend's XL shirt to demonstrate how perfectly it fit his lean frame. This image circulated the internet as more and more people aired their complaints concerning sizing of women's clothing.

Many women of healthy, normal weight find themselves embarrassed of their height or weight simply because they are labeled as "Extra Large" by the fashion industry. So, for those of you who clicked on this with intentions of discovering the secret to "the perfect summer body," I have some very good news for you: you have already achieved it. The body that you have at this very second is practically perfect in every way.

Here are five simple ways to embrace your body this summer:

1. Love the body you have.

Do not feel pressured to achieve the "perfect body." Instead, work to love the body you already have! No other human being has all of the amazing, unique, interesting features that you have. Embrace them and love them.

2. Find simple solutions.

If you do find yourself motivated to make healthy decisions this summer, there are tons of simple tips and tricks that will leave you feeling positive about your body. Something as easy as replacing your daily soda with a glass of water could make all the difference! To spice it up, toss a few slices of strawberry and lemon into your water bottle to give you a fruity infused water that will last all day long!

3. Don't lose what you love.

Summer is the time of year when it is most tempting to diet. While it may be difficult, try to keep a positive attitude about the body you have, regardless of what you may be seeing on TV. It is 100 percent possible to be happy and healthy without having to cut out any of your favorite summer foods!

4. Safety First

Protect that beautiful bod of yours by making sure to apply lots of sunscreen before going out into the intense summer sun. Also, remembering to drink lots of water will keep you healthy, hydrated and give your skin a summer glow!

5. Rock what you've got!

While you may be tempted to follow the summer fashion trends, not everyone feels happy and comfortable in crop tops or cut-off shorts. Instead, explore trends such as t-shirt dresses that will keep you feeling comfortable, looking fashionable and show off every amazing curve you have. There is no point in wearing something that you don't feel confident in, no matter how trendy it is.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
