Sometimes we get caught up in our own little bubble, and we forget that there are other cultures happening all around us. Cultures around the world have different food, languages, and even sports. So here's seven (most likely) new sports for you to check out.

1. Sepak Takraw

It's very similar to volleyball, but they use a rattan ball. Also, players are only allowed to use their feet, knees, chest, or head to hit the ball, but not their hands.

2. Shin Kicking

This is a combat sport where the competitors kick their opponent's shin until they land on the ground. There are rumors that some competitors wore steel-toe boots, and they would hit their shins with hammers to build their pain tolerance.

3. Wife Carrying

Male competitors run through an obstacle course carrying a female teammate. The prize for winning the competition is the wife's weight in beer.

4. Underwater Hockey

Also called "Octopush" in the United Kingdom, Underwater Hockey simply two teams trying to push a puck underwater into the other teams goal. Just like hockey, but the water's not frozen.

5. Cheese Rolling

The basic premise of cheese rolling is that Double Gloucester Cheese is rolled down the hill, then the competitors chase after it. The first one to the finish line wins the cheese.

6. Quidditch

Many people have heard of this, but only in the Harry Potter books and movies. With it's popularity growing and growing, it's becoming more common in our "muggle" world.

7. Buzkashi

It's a traditional central Asian sport similar to polo, but, instead of using a wooden mallet and ball, they use the carcass of a cow or goat.
