With summer right around the corner, we need to make sure we stay on top of our playlist game. We can't keep playing the same songs from winter or, even worse, fall. We are past that. We've outgrown that.
1. Lemon by N.E.R.D. and Rihanna
Anyone who knows me saw this one coming. Lemon is currently my favorite song; it's got this way of hyping you up for no particular reason. And when Rihanna comes on, you'll have to stop everything you're doing.
2. Can You Hear Me? by Amber Mark
I'm a fan of this song mostly when I'm cleaning. This is definitely the song you need to play when the day has just started and the air still has a slight chill. It's refreshing, and it goes hand-in-hand with that new day smell.
3. Wait a Minute! by Willow Smith
Imagine this: you and your posse just went on a nice drive, and you're heading back with the sun setting in the distance with this song playing in the background. Willow's voice is as mesmerizing as the sky when it turns into five different degrees of color. Just don't forget to drive with the windows all the way down.
4. LONG DISTANCE by Sam Gellaitry
If you're like me, the extroverted introvert, then you will have some days where you just want to stay inside. On those days, I encourage you to go out and just walk. Play this song in your headphones, and feel the electronic groove as you soak up some essential vitamin D. You'll thank me later.
5. Tokyo Drift by Mallrat
This song brings back some memories; it's been on my playlist for a long while. This is what I call a "nighttime" song. It's got that lampposts passing overhead as you drive down a dark, empty freeway aesthetic. It's so specific, but I'm not wrong, am I?
