5 Signs That You're A Health Nut

“What is coconut oil?” and “why do you eat it?” are some of many questions that I have received from people in the past year that I have decided to take steps to being a healthier person. I have fallen in love with finding new ways to live healthier as well as new vitamins and supplements to help me along the way. I am happier and healthier than I have ever been and I search for new ways to get healthier every day. With brands such as Lululemon, Nike, Fabletics and Lucy offering attractive exercise apparel, there has never been a better time to encourage people, especially young people, to get in shape. Many guys and girls are taking their health into their own hands and becoming addicted to the results. With the help of countless fitness centers, apps as well as websites becoming the healthiest person that you can become easier than ever. A couple of weeks ago I was called a "health nut" by a friend and instead of being offended, I was flattered because that term describes me as well as many other people very well.

No matter how much you accomplished during your day, you feel very unaccomplished if you did not hit the gym.

No matter what the reason is that you cannot get to the gym that day you still feel the sting of the empty place in your heart. You decide to make an extra solid effort to make sure that you can go the next day.

You read and understand food labels.

Understanding food labels is crucial to knowing exactly what you are putting in your body and how your body will be negatively or positively affected.

Your Pinterest is filled with new recipes and health hacks to try.

You most definitely have more that one board devoted to fitness. When you are the store you scroll through your boards to find out what ingredients you need for the new hack that you are going to try.

You have an instant bond with anyone who is wearing a Fitbit or any other fitness tracker

"What to be Fitbit friends?!" OMG yes! Many step challenges await you.

You get really excited when you see the words “Gluten-free” on a restaurant menu.

You may or may not be entirely gluten-free but you will not turn your nose up at a gluten-free option for a pizza or a sandwich.

I will always be a health nut and if you identify with any of the above points then you will probably always be a health nut as well. Never give up this lifestyle, your body will thank you later.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
