I believe it is possible that there are others out there in this world, who are also obsessed with the Holiday Season. I'm talking Christmas trees, all things fall colored, cinnamon and pumpkin smells, lights that twinkle and songs that chime.
I can't identify when this obsession started. I have no idea when the value of Christmas (other than the birth of Jesus) became so important to me. Luckily, my husband understands me well enough to at least support me in this time.
So here are some identifying factors that you're obsessed with this season:
1. Your tree is already up
OK FINE. I admit, my entire Christmas Tree and corresponding decor went up on Monday, November 7th. Why am I supposed to only enjoy this beauty for like 3 and a half weeks versus two months? I don't get where this rule came into play.
2. There might be presents already under said tree
Guilty again. I'm a planner, recently I learned that I am a "Gold" personality type according to Don Lowry's True Color test. I think futuristic, and I love to plan ahead. Naturally, I already have some small items for my close family members, and yes they are under the tree.
3. Christmas music is on PLAY
There is something about the music that has been made for this season that just makes me swoon. The joy, happiness, and bells invite warmth and comfort into my heart. I absolutely love the feeling I have when it's playing in the background of my day.
4. You can't stop staring at the PTO calendar
This is for all you working-busy-bees. There are certain days and/or weeks that we all get to take off during this time. Waiting and longing for Thanksgiving and Christmas break is similar to waiting for that juicy turkey in your mind. Who doesn't need an awesome break to relax and enjoy all the above things anyways?
5. Walking into Target has a whole new meaning
It means you can find joy in the back at the Holiday section. Tiny, sparkly, shiny, beautiful decorations that fill up your heart. I'm not kidding guys, I lose it in that section. My husband walked me through there the other night and just laughed at me because I was that excited.
I think it's safe to say we've entered my favorite time of year. With all that is happening in the world right now, I could've written something controversial or deep and meaningful, but I think we all need to slow down and enjoy this amazing season. It's the close out to 2016 (which has been absolute nuts), and it's time to rejoice and celebrate.
