The saying goes, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. Well making it here is scary,

Here are five things that New Yorkers are secretly afraid to do.

Eating street food

Well, some of it...most if it is actually really good (the bomb pretzels), but some of it can ride the line between sketchy and just plain hazardous .

Stand too close to the edge of the platform.

You have no idea how many accidents happen in the subway everyday. So yeah playing on the literal edge of death is a no go.

Pushing the emergency bar in the subway.

Yeah, we know it's not actually going to set the alarm off, but what if it does!? New Yorkers do not have time to deal with inconvenience.

Walking during a "no crossing" sign.

People get hit by cars all the time, it's daily so even though you have plenty of time to cross that street, you feel a bit reckless actually doing it.

Going to Times Square

I'm not explaining this because it obvious, it's awful, it's a level of hell.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
