5 Reasons You Should Try Camping

I just got back from another amazing camping trip. It taught me how to get out of my comfort zone, how much I truly adore my crazy family, how to appreciate my surroundings, and how to say yes to adventure.

Here are five reasons why you should definitely try camping too:

1. You get to unplug from the world.

It's nice to get away from the craziness of being on the phone all the time. Clearing your mind in nature and making memories with no distractions is the perfect time to do that.

2. S'Mores.

ENOUGH SAID. What happens around the campfire, stays around the campfire... (even if you eat 20 smores at once on accident).

3. You don't have to worry about appearances.

It's okay to get dirty and look messy once in a while. It's nice to not have to worry about looking all put together and it helps you appreciate your showers at home even more.

4. You learn to improvise.

I only packed a certain amount of clothes and the weather at night was way colder than I expected. So I improvised and wore 4 jackets, 2 pairs of pants, and 2 pairs of socks to bed!! Even though I looked like a marshmallow, I saw that complaining wasn't going to get me anywhere and learned how to figure it out. Usually in every situation during camping, it's a game of figuring situations out and making the best of the experience.

5. Uninterrupted time to think.

In the middle of the huge forest, you realize how tiny your daily problems really are. It's important to set time aside to think and the mountains is a perfect place to do so. The fresh air and quiet environment allows you to finally relax a bit.

So I urge you to enjoy the hot campfire, stars that look unreal, and amazing time to relax and have fun.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
