Every summer, I sit down and create a bucket list for the things that I want to accomplish throughout those very short couple of months. Many people yell at me and say “a bucket list is stuff you want to do before you die”. While that is true, a bucket list can also be things that you just want to do period. As this may be my last summer to actually have fun and live life like a college student should before entering the real world next year, I intend to make this the best summer yet. Here are five reasons you should have a summer bucket list too!
1. Accomplishment
Having a summer bucket list gives me a sense of accomplishment. When I look back at the end and see what all I achieved, I feel proud and happy that I made the most of it.
2. Creativity
There are so many fun things to do in the summer that you obviously can’t do year ‘round, unless you live where it’s warm all the time. This gives you the opportunity to be creative with your fun and do the things that you only get three or four months to do.
3. Purpose
A summer bucket list gives me a sense of purpose. I would much rather be out doing things with my friends and family and making the most of my summer than sitting around watching Netflix all day.
4. Motivation
Refer to what I said about Netflix. Get up off your butt and go experience what the world has to offer!
4. Enjoyment
The most important reason of all. What you put on your bucket list should be fun and enjoyable! You can experience them with your friends and family, make memories, and have a blast doing it.
So what are you waiting for? Go make a summer bucket list & make the most out of your time! You won't regret it!
