I recently attended the Country Music Festival in Nashville, Tennesse for the second year in a row and also attended the Buckeye Super Country Festival in Columbus, Ohio this past week. After six straight days of country concerts, you could say I'm a little worn out. It was one of the best weeks of my entire life though and I strongly recommend that you should attend a country music festival and experience the same type of thing I did.

1. It's a straight up party.

You got the pregame party before the festival starts where you tailgate, socialize, and eat with friends, family, and even strangers. There's hotdogs on the grill, music blaring, and random yard games being played. Then the party continues into the venue where the festival is taking place. Wherever you're sitting, whether you're on the floor or in the nosebleeds, people are having a great time listening to live music and talking with each other. There's dancing and singing throughout the entire venue. This type of party will trump all others.

2. You get more bang for your buck.

Yes, it may seem expensive to attend these types of festivals but when you break it down, you're actually seeing some pretty big names for a lower cost. In Columbus, I got to see country stars like Zac Brown Band and Miranda Lambert for $20 each. In Nashville, everything I attended was free. You're seeing more acts for a bigger cost than seeing only two or three for the same amount at a normal concert.

3. It's long.

These festivals are an all day, all evening type of concert. This goes along with the price. You're able to see more than usual. In Nashville, concerts started at 10 in the morning and ended at five in the evening. In Columbus, they started at five in the evening and went on until 11:30. These festivals definitely leave you with more than enough country music.

4. It's relaxed.

You never have a feeling of stress when attending a country music festival. You can arrive whenever you would like. You can wear whatever you would like. Dressing for a country music festival is very easy. You can wear a t-shirt or a dress. Nobody cares or judges you for your outfit. You can sit or stand during the festival. Even the performers seem to be super relaxed when on stage.

5. You never know what to expect.

Every music festival is different. You never know what an artist is going to do while performing on stage. In Columbus, Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban both gave away signed guitars to two lucky fans. Many other performers went into the crowd of people. There were also free meet and greets going on before the concerts. In Nashville, there were so many pop up concerts throughout the town during the Country Music Festival. I was able to see Jason Aldean perform for free downtown. I was also able to attend rehearsals for CMT Awards happening that week. You never know what is going to happen while attending country music festivals. You will most defininetly never regret going to a country music festival.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
