5 Reasons Why I Wish I Wasn't Addicted to Netflix

I love Netflix, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I love finding new shows to watch, they have awesome documentaries on there, and they have some pretty good movies, as well. Although, I need to be honest and say that after spending hours at a time on Netflix, as much as I love it, I tend not to feel so great about myself afterwards. Here's five reasons as to why I kind of wish I wasn't so obsessed with this website:

1) There's so many other things I could be doing

The amount of time I spend sitting on my ass watching Netflix is ridiculous. I could be reading the ten unread books that are currently sitting on my bookshelf...I could be cleaning...I could be hanging out with friends, seeing the world, playing with my cat...the possibilities are endless! Too bad I'll never know, because I'm too busy watching movies on Netflix.

2) Netflix knows how to suck you in

"Yes! I finally finished watching this show, now I can finally read that book I've been meaning to...wait, A Series of Unfortunate Events just came out?!"

That book never gets read.

3) That money adds up!

Eight to ten dollars a month sounds cheap, but think about it: That's over $100 a year, and for a broke college student, that can go a long way.

4) I always feel the need to snack as I'm watching it

I don't know what it is, but almost every time I decide to watch something on Netflix, I need a bag of pretzels or some other snack right next to me! It's as if Netflix and unnecessary snaking go hand in hand.

5) It allows you to shamelessly re-watch your favorite TV shows/ movies and relive all the emotions that go along with it.

I am so completely guilty of this. I think I've watched The Office about three times by now (and no, it does not get old). It's just so easy when EVERY SINGLE EPISODE is at your finger tips.

Well, that's pretty much it. I guess I can't complain too much, since there are far worse things in life that I could be addicted to. I definitely should set a goal for myself to watch Netflix a little less, but who knows if that'll actually happen!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
