5 Reasons Why I'm A Morning Person

Waking up early is the best.

5 Reasons Why I'm A Morning Person
Ryan Simonovich

If you ask any college student if they are a "morning person", most will claim that they are not. Most students will look at you weird if you tell them that you enjoy going to class anytime before 10 AM. Here are my top reasons why I believe waking up early is the best.

1. Coffee

I love coffee, and what better excuse is there to drink coffee than waking up early. You can enjoy the friendly warmth of you morning cup of coffee, while basking in the silence before the sun rises. If one cup isn't enough, then you have the perfect excuse to have another afternoon coffee.

2. The Sunrise

Enjoy the sunrise on your way to work or class. It's a moment that few will see, which makes it that much better. Along with the sunrise is the crisp air on a fall or winter day. Nothing will make you enjoy heated buildings more.

3. Morning Classes

Students look at me crazy when I tell them I enjoy my morning classes. I think they are the ones missing out. Morning classes allow you to get the hassles out of the way first so you have more time in the day to do fun things.

4. More Productivity

Similarly to my last point, waking up early leads to more productivity. Go to work or class first thing, then do homework, and then have more time to do what you love. There is simply more time when you don't sleep it away.

5. Better Sleep

I find it rewarding to go to sleep before 10 PM and wake up early in the AM. Waking up early will make you tired in the evening, so falling asleep will feel amazing. However, waking up early definitely does not work if you stay up late.

Morning coffee, the sunrise, and productivity. These are all reasons why I recommend waking up early and not wasting any time over sleeping. What did I miss? What are your favorite parts about waking up early?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
