5 Reasons Why Samantha Jones Is One Of My Role Models

In a couple of weeks, I will be visiting New York City, the city that never sleeps. I cannot express my excitement for the trip that will be filled with food, fashion, and lots of Sex and the City references, which I'm sure my big sister and I are going to talk about during our vacation in New York. Did I already mention Sex and the City? I'm pretty sure I did because the television series was filmed in fabulous New York City, and New York is the home of one of my role models, Samantha Jones! Samantha Jones is a public relations specialist that lives for three things: fashion, friends, and lots and lots of sex. Sex and the City viewers, I know what you're thinking. You're probably thinking, "Why would you follow a slut?" Now before you panic, here me out!

1. Samantha Jones knows fashion!

Not one episode went by that Samantha did not wear a stunning outfit! As a New Yorker, fashion is a religion. People live and breathe fashion, and no one wore a Birkin bag better than Samantha Jones herself.

2. Samantha will always be there when you need it

Samantha will always be your best friend! Whenever Carrie, or any of the other girls, are having a rough day, she will treat you to a cocktail or advice on how to pick up a guy.

3. Samantha is hilarious

I have lost count of how many times I laughed my butt off while watching Sex and the City episodes. Samantha is very open about her sex life, and it never fails to make me laugh.

4. Samantha is a successful business woman

As mentioned before, Samantha works in public relations. Her confidence and intelligence has landed her success and a relationship with a hot young actor named Smith.

5. Samantha is proud of who she is and doesn't care what others think of her

This reason is why I give this woman so much praise. Samantha has the one thing I have always wished for: the confidence not to care about what others think. Samantha sleeps with almost half of Manhattan and wears clothes that are too young for her. When someone tries to bring her down, she will speak her mind and show pride for who she is.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
