The Pokémon Go app game has just been released, and it is already a big trending topic. I went on social media, and all I could see was people posting about this game. I decided to download the game simply to see what the big deal was. However, I soon discovered that this game was more fun than I originally expected. There are so many good things about it, compared to the average app or video game. Here are five reasons why Pokémon Go is perfect.
1. It makes for a great team sport.
My friends and I have been playing this game like crazy. We love that the Pokémon appear to be there in real life because the app uses your camera. It makes it look as if the creatures are on your desk or in a staircase, or anywhere else you are near. My friends and I have gone into stores and walked around together, letting each other know when we found a Pokémon. Sometimes, we even have to help each other catch the creatures. I once had one that I simply couldn’t capture, so my friends had to help out to show me how to be sure I caught it.
When waiting at a restaurant, I have played the game. It passes the time a lot quicker when you are searching and catching Pokémon.
3. It helps you learn about landmarks.
While on and near a college campus, my friends and I realized that there were a lot of important landmarks that we did not even know existed. Through the app, we were able to learn something new. Who knew a small town had so many landmarks.
4. You can almost use it as a map if you get lost.
I am not sure of what the creators used to make the app, but you can follow roads and see where buildings are on the app. No, they are not labelled, but you can use the landmarks that are labelled to help you out. It is as if Google Maps partnered with Pokémon Go to create an amazing mapped out experience.
5. You get physical exercise while playing it.
The one thing that I am sure the creators had in mind when creating the app is that it gets kids, and apparently adults, moving and active. It is fun to run around finding Pokémon. It is also great to watch people do it. I think that it was a great idea to have a game where you are forced to move in order to find the Pokémon.
