I have traveled through many great states, and I've been to several different countries, but nothing feels better to me than Kentucky. There are so many people on my newsfeed that complain about how much they hate living in Kentucky and wished they lived somewhere else. Which to be honest is just sad. I can't imagine calling anywhere else home. I'm not saying I don't want to travel, and I wouldn't live anywhere else for an extended period of time, but Kentucky is where my heart is. So here's a list of five great things about good ole KY.
1. First off, let's check off the one thing everyone knows about; The Derby.
It's the oldest continuously ran sporting event. It started in 1875 and has ran every year since. It was founded by Meriwether Lewis Clark, aka the grandson of the famous explorer William Clark. This is probably my favorite face about the The Derby. Which is really nerdy, but oh well. People have traveled thousands of miles to come watch thoroughbreds race for two minutes. Plus, theres a pie named after it and who doesn't love pie? The Derby is awesome, and every Kentuckian should experience this beloved tradition.

2. Kaelin's restaurant in Louisville claims to have invented the cheeseburger in 1934, although a Denver drive-in called Humpty Dumpty's patented it a year later. Even though this restaurant is no longer open, it's still another reason to have Kentucky pride.
3. Duncan Hines, the name from the cake mix, originated from Bowling Green, KY. Next time I eat a slice of Duncan Hines cake, I'll have an extra reason to be happy, It's from KY.
5. One of my favorite things to do is take a bath and the world's first enamel bathtub was manufactured in Louisville in 1856. You're welcome, planet Earth.
This is just five random reasons why I bear Kentucky pride, maybe you can find even more reasons to love the Bluegrass state.
