For college students like us, summers are usually spent at work. We’re tired, underpaid, and pretty much about to go insane. I probably would have lost my mind months ago if I didn’t have people like you to keep me laughing through our 8-hour shifts. There are so many reasons why I should thank you all, but these are just a few.
1. Thank you for letting me vent.
We literally talk about everything; boys, parties, tattoos, cute dog videos...nothing is off limits. You are all so easy to talk to and such great listeners. Downtime between rounds would be a lot more boring if I didn’t spend them with you guys
2. Thank you for being silly with me.
Busy 7:00 rounds and mean customers get the best of us but somehow we’re able to laugh it off at the end of the night. You guys keep me from taking myself or our jobs too seriously and I’m grateful for that
3. Thank you for tolerating my faults.
I know that I’m a ditz and probably one of the most forgetful people ever. Thank you for express tendering my orders when I forget, not hating me when I get the wrong slushie flavors and putting up with all my dumb questions (I know I have a lot of them)
4. Thank you for having my back.
It’s like customers don’t realize that we have feelings too. We’ve all had those times where people just get irrationally mad at us and gone way overboard with the insults. Thank you for sticking up for me every time I’ve gotten chewed out by someone and for reassuring me that whatever I may have done wrong wasn’t actually that bad.
5. Thanks for the friendships.
I never thought that an after-school, part-time job would bring me to a group of such genuinely kind and funny girls. Meeting you all has been a total blessing and you’ve all made me a better person. I can’t thank you enough for being a part of my first job and I know that no matter what my next job has in store for me, you’ll all be the best work friends I could have ever asked for.
I never thought a part time job would bring me to so many amazing people, but I couldn’t be happier with the friends I have found in you all. Thanks for everything.
