It’s that time of year where the weather starts to get a little colder and the nights start to get a little shorter. Gone are bikinis, sunshine and trips to the pool. I am actually not too sad to say goodbye to these things every year because the fall is my favorite season. Why? Let me tell you.
1. Coffee
If we are being completely serious, some of the best flavors of coffee come around during the fall. I am not a PSL girl (Pumpkin Spice Latte, for those of you who somehow don’t know what that means) but there are some other flavors that I really like. Particularly, Starbucks has a Salted Caramel Mocha that I live for every year.
2. The Weather
Something about the colder weather tends to brighten my mood. I really enjoy layering and wearing my boyfriend’s clothes in an effort to keep warm. Also, when it is gray and gloomy outside, I love how it makes colors look more vibrant and prominent. If that isn’t something you have noticed before, I highly recommend keeping an eye out for it next time it is gloomy where you are.
3. Boots
Playing off the last thing, I love wearing boots. I love how they look and I love how they make an outfit look more put together, even when you are just wearing legging and a big ole’ sweater. It makes you look like you tried to look good even when you don’t try, and we can all use pieces of clothing like that in our wardrobes, am I right?
4. The Holidays
When I say this, I mean Halloween and Thanksgiving in particular. Halloween is great for a few reasons. One, it gets real crazy, especially here in Pullman. Two, the candy. I have a major sweet tooth, so getting free candy is amazing. Thanksgiving is even better because there is amazing food and you get to reminisce about the things that you are thankful for in life. Whether it is your friends, your family, or anything really, everyone has something that they are thankful for, and I think that it is so important to remember.
5. Football
I love football. I love watching my Cougs and Packers play throughout the season. The energy and excitement that comes from football fans is unmatched. I never lose my voice except for when I am at a football game. Football is something that brings my friends and I together, sitting on the couch, eating great food, having a great time hanging out together. I just can’t say enough good things about football; there aren’t enough words.
All in all, fall is a great season. Sure, it is the time where everyone goes back to school and that kind of sucks, but I don’t think that takes away from the awesomeness of the fall time. So, if you see someone running around in boots and big sweater with a coffee in their hand, ask them what their favorite season is. I’ll bet you it’s fall.
