One of the biggest debates in history is about to be put to a rest. Not really, but I can definitely make the answer easier. How do you answer the question "are you a dog person or a cat person?" If you are like me, you'd undoubtedly say you're a cat person. I mean, why wouldn't you? Cats are amazing, but I may be a tad bit biased. Hopefully these five reasons will help you see why cats are truly the best.

1. Cats are low-maintenance.

Cats are probably the easiest mammal to take care. Just feed them and give them water and they are good to go. You don't have to bathe them because they like that job themselves. Plus cats hate water! So, they like to groom themselves. However, I recommend a little brushing once in a while, especially if the cat is long-haired.

2. Cats are easily potty-trained.

If you give a cat a litter box with litter, you will never have to worry about accidents around your house. I don't understand the science behind it, but for some reason cats are attracted to litter. I never once had a cat use the bathroom anywhere else besides the litterbox. Your only job: clean the litter box when it gets too full. Easy enough.

3. Cats love naps just as much as you do.

Did you know that cats can sleep up to 16 hours a day? I wish I could sleep that much. The amazing thing about cat naps is that you can sleep in peace. You won't have to worry about loud barking waking you up in the middle of the night. More than likely your cat will sleep through any sound. They enjoy naps and so do you. Pro tip: cat cuddles during a nap are amazing.

4. Cats know how to keep people entertained.

Have you ever found yourself Youtubeing cat videos? I do. They are the cutest. Cats do the darnedest things. They can easily entertain themselves as well as others. Cats will find entertainment out of anything and the videos that come from it are golden. Trust me, just google it.

5. Cats are obviously the cutest animals ever.

I mean this is the most obvious reason. You have fluffy cats, fat cats, hairless cats, short-haired cats, munchkin cats, black cats, and so many more. They are adorable and you will always find one that you like. Regardless if you hate cats, you know that at least one is adorable.

Let's just be honest, cats are winning in every category.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
