5 Reasons Why I Can't Wait For The Holiday Season

While it may seem early you can feel the spirit of the holiday season throughout the year, the closer you get the more exciting it gets. Although its a few months away, I can't wait until the day after Thanksgiving to see the holiday season start to fully bloom and here's why:

1. The world starts to look magical-

You see lights hung all over houses, and paintings in store fronts. Shiny decorations and ribbons can be found everywhere. It may sound juvenile but there's nothing I love more than snow on the ground and trees, illuminated by the colorful lights of decked out houses.

2. Classic holiday music-

Although it does start to get old toward the end of December there's no better feeling than hearing Winter Wonderland or All I Want for Christmas is You, for the first time in ages. I love hearing holiday music on the radio, in the car and in every store.

3. Appreciation-

There's no time like the holidays to channel your appreciation for all the beautiful things in your life. Starting with Thanksgiving up through New Years is the best time to spend a little extra quality time with your family and friends and appreciate every minute of it. Although gifts are generally just material, the sentiment behind them can be a beautiful display of appreciation.

4. Clothing-

There's something I personally love about bundling up in 12 different winter accessories, from hats to scarfs to leg warmers. My favorite fashion trend yet is thigh high boots and although almost every girl I know has a similar one, I truly am in love with my olive green winter jacket.

5. Present Shopping-

The best gift really is the gift of giving. Picking out something that is going to make someone you care about happy is such a wonderful thing, especially when you find something that is just right. You also can't forget how aesthetically pleasing it is to wrap gifts in that shiny wrapping paper with that bright red ribbon.

With the beautiful white snow, comes a beautiful holiday spirit that I love. I really do believe that the holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year and I can't wait for it to come around again this year.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
