Being a college student the weekends are something I look forward to all the time. When Monday arrives I am always thinking to myself " Is it Friday yet?" While I know there are people out there who do not think like this, I also know I am not alone in looking forward to the weekend. So here are my five reasons why I look forward to the weekends.

1. I get to RELAX!

During the week I am legit always running around and most days do not make it back to my room until 7 p.m. at night. Of course, there are days when it is later but I try not to think about those days too much. Relaxation over the weekend to me are the best and I look forward to it.

2. Homework!

The weekend is the time when I really study and catch up on my homework. This makes me really happy because it allows me to catch up with my homework and be ahead in my classes. It also helps me to stay focus on my school work because I do not have classes, work, or other students to distract me which makes everything much better.

3. Sleeping In!

I know I am not alone when I say that I love sleeping in on the weekends. It feels nice not to have to wake up at a certain time or have certain responsibilities that prevent you from being able to sleep in during the day. I can go to bed as late as I want because of homework, and wake up late the next day if I need too. Sleeping is the absolute best and as a college student, I need it especially on the weekends.

4. Hang out with friends!

During the week I get extremely busy and sometimes feel like I never have time for my friends but luckily on the weekend, I get to see them and hang out with them. I also get to go off campus and chill with them or go see a movie with them. Whatever we do over the weekend I truly enjoy hanging out with my friends, and just spending quality time with them makes things a lot more bearable.

5. It's The Weekend!

The last and most obvious reason is simply because it is the weekend and for those two days and a night I pretty much have no worries or cares when it comes to being places, having meetings or going to classes. I get to just simply be normal, do homework, and just relax. I get to talk on the phone without worrying about class in the morning or hang out with my friends as late as I want. The only thing I have to do is homework and I tend to get that done relatively easy and quickly.

The weekends are my absolute favorite and I look forward to it all the time. I miss it a lot during the week, and I enjoy it to the fullest when it gets here.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
