I recently classified myself as a "21-year-old that watches too much HGTV." Though that might be true, I believe that HGTV teaches many valuable lessons - and I'm not just talking about how to match a backsplash with a granite, marble or quartz counter. I also really enjoy HGTV because of the characters are just so lovable! Here are five reasons why I think everyone should watch a little HGTV.

1. Chip and Joanna Gaines

2. Tarek and Christina El Moussa

3. You can see houses all over the world when all you want to do is lay in bed

4. It helps you imagine what you want your future house to look like

5. It teaches you invaluable design and construction skills
