Alpha Phi Omega is a unique organization on campus. It is a national co-ed service fraternity that I am proud to be a part of. Today I will be letting you in on why you should pledge Alpha Phi Omega.
1. Community Service
In APO, we are all about helping the community. We get to spread smiles around the Amherst area while still having fun. Some of our projects have included organizations like Craig's Doors Shelter, Chabad House, Boy Scouts of America and The Boston Marathon.
2. Friendship
Once you are initiated, you instantly become a brother of Alpha Phi Omega for the rest of your life. We are called brothers because are bonds with each other are that close. We bond over service with like minded individuals and get to meet a diverse population of people.
3. Leadership
Alpha Phi Omega offers countless leadership opportunities for all of our brothers. Not only is this great experience, but it also looks great on applications and resumes. You have the ability to choose how big of an impact you want to leave in your chapter once you graduate.
4. Greek Life, But Not Greek Life
APO technically is not part of traditional Greek life. We offer all of the amazing things about a Greek organization (Bigs and Littles, initiations, paddle exchange, fellowships etc.) without some of the other aspects of a sorority or fraternity. We don't have a house, we are a dry fraternity, we have a strict no hazing policy and we don't have crazy big dues or expenses.
5. Somewhere To Belong
Alpha Phi Omega has become a home away from home for me. I always feel safe and welcome knowing that I have brothers waiting for me at school. I will always have something to do and someone to talk to. The bonds that you form in APO are irreplaceable and lifelong.
