5 Reasons To Hate Fall

I know seeing the title of this article might come as a shock to most people. I say this because anyone I know, who lives in an area that experiences all four seasons usually loves fall. This is not surprising because of the magical way the leaves change colors. Who can forget all of the fall festivities such as hayrides, corn mazes and apple picking, just to name a few. And hello? The season of PSL and hot apple cider. I’m sure all fall lovers could go on and on about the amazing season that is fall. Unfortunately, I am not one of those people. I’m one of those die hard summer fans. If you happen to be a strange rare breed of a person like myself sit back, relax and mourn the loss of summer with me.

  1. Fall is the death of summer

It may sound petty of me to say that I hate fall solely because it is the end of my favorite season, but that is the truth. When I start to see the leaves falling off the trees, I seriously contemplate trying to glue them back up on the tree. In all honesty fall is the death of summer. Everything starts to die, plants, trees, and my soul a little bit.

  1. Fall has always been the start of school

This may not apply to people that have been out of school for a long time. However, people like myself who have spent the past 12-16 years in school still have nightmares at the thought of school starting. If you haven’t guessed already I absolutely hated school growing up. I’ve always wanted to live in a fantasy world where summer would last forever and no one ever had to go to school. Imagine when fall came around and school was back in session how thrilled I was?

2. Flu season.

I think this reason is a something everyone can agree on. No one likes being sick. It is just fact that when the seasons change and the weather gets colder everyone gets sick. People at work are coughing all the time, schools are a breeding ground for sickness and it’s really only a matter of time before you catch it.

4.Halloween

I know this reason is something not everyone will agree on. For me personally, I do not like fall because it is the season of halloween. I think there are great things about halloween like costumes and candy. That being said, I cannot tolerate anything scary. This might sound like an exaggeration, but I can barely handle certain scary scenes in disney or kids movies. I remember watching the movie “The Haunted Mansion” with Eddie Murphy and I had to turn it off half way through because it was too scary. I can barely watch T.V during the fall season because of all the horror movie commercials that are on.

5. It’s impossible to prepare for the weather

Fall is a frustrating time of year because the weather is unpredictable. The morning is always freezing, so you are forced to wear layers of clothing. By the time school or work is out it has warmed up and becomes too hot for the layers. If you live in a place like Pennsylvania it could be snowing one day and 75 degrees the next day.

Although fall is a beautiful time of year it is also a time of sadness for summer lovers. Fall is the beginning of a long cold winter, sickness, and the start of boring school. The best thing to do is embrace the season. Have yourself a bon fire with some smores, go pumpkin picking and brace yourself for the cold winter.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
