5 Reasons To Believe In Yourself

When you put time in and work hard on something, it's a wonderful feeling when people notice and praise you for it. The enthusiasm and excitement you get from your praise makes you work even harder and want to push yourself farther.

Now picture this, you put your heart and soul into something constantly and haven't gotten noticed for it yet. You try and try again but still aren't getting the attention you think you deserve. Well what now? If nobody has noticed yet you might as well give up and try something else then, right?

Wrong. If you don't believe in yourself, you aren't passionate about what you're doing, plain in simple. Those may be tough words to swallow, but I'm gonna give you five reasons why you should make yourself feel on top of the world even if you're a nobody.

1. Life is what you make it

Your life is a direct reflection of the choices and decisions you make. Good or bad, everything plays a part. You need to be confident in the choices you make and not rely on other people to help make them for you. Nobody does the right thing all the time. Use your bad decisions as lessons for next time rather than tearing yourself down for them. Everybody makes mistakes, but a mistake is only a mistake if you don't learn a lesson from it.

2. Anything is possible if you set your mind to it

The world is yours, and if you truly want something, the only person stopping you from getting it is yourself. You need to believe that impossible is possible, and anything can be accomplished. If you set your mind to getting the girl, you can get her. Even if every single person you know doubted you it doesn't matter, because as long as you have faith in yourself, you can do it.

3. Self doubt will be your downfall

Setting expectations and goals for yourself is good, let me rephrase that. Setting realistic expectations and goals for yourself is great. Rome wasn't built in a day, so just because you've been hitting the gym for a week you can't expect to have your dream body already. Having an end goal in mind is great because it gives you something to work towards but having smaller goals in between will keep you feeling accomplished along the way. It's easy to get discouraged when things aren't happening how you want them to at a fast rate. Set yourself up for success and keep yourself motivated with each small milestone until you reach your end goal.

4. Nobody will believe in you until you give them a reason to

Other people want to believe in you, they wan to see you succeed and do great things. All of that starts with believing in yourself, if you want to be the next best up and coming artist you can do it. Believe in the music you're making and don't get discouraged when you don't get as many plays or downloads as you hoped for. When people see you're self motivated and driven to be the best you can be they will support you and help you get there. The road to success isn't a straight path to paradise, you're going to hit some low points on the way, it's all about bringing yourself out of them and coming out stronger than you were before.

5. You owe it to yourself

You have dreams and aspirations that you want to achieve, big or small, simple or complex you have something you want to work for. The feeling of self motivation is something you can't compare to anything else. Push yourself to be the best you can be all the time even if nobody thinks you have what it takes. Every individual has potential to do something amazing. If you think you can do it, don't let anyone tell you otherwise because I promise you all it takes is you believing in you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
