A lot of people say that being an only child is so much better than having siblings. Their reasons range from: If you’re the only child your parents do not have to pick “favorites,” or if you’re the only child your parents can spend all their time and money on you. However, I am here to tell you that having siblings is one of the greatest things you can experience in life.
Here are 5 reasons why having brothers and sisters are one of life’s greatest blessings:
1. They Are ALWAYS There For You
Whether it is because you wore mismatching socks today and feel like a fool, or your significant other broke your heart, your siblings will always be there for you. No matter if everyone else bails, your siblings will only be a phone call away, ready to beat up anyone who made you cry.
2. They Will Never Judge You
No matter what you tell them, they do not judge you. They are the number one person you can tell anything to, and they will still love you. They do not care what mistakes you made, they just want to make sure that YOU are okay, and they would move mountains and rivers if it meant you would feel better.
3. You'll Always Have A Best Friend
Let’s face it, not all friendships last, but brothers and sisters are forever. I mean… y’all are siblings, even if they wanted too (and sometimes they do) they cannot get rid of you. No matter how busy they are, or how far away they are, they will always answer your S.O.S. text, and do anything they can to make you feel better.
4. You'll Never Be Lonely
Growing up, you always had someone by your side. No matter what you always had someone that would tag along on your adventures, and make the experience more fun. You never had to worry about being alone or lonely because you knew your siblings would always be ready to have some fun with you.
5. You Will Always Have More Than One Number One Fan
You have the blessing of having more than one number one fan in your life. You not only have your parents, but your whole montage of siblings cheering for you. They will always believe in you and help you achieve your dreams, no matter what.
Thank you to my brother and sister for not only doing all of these things, but even more for me. Y’all truly are one of life’s greatest gifts, and no matter how much we may annoy each other, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
