5 Reasons That Prove Miracles Happen Everyday

Reflecting on this holiday season.

An individual must believe that miracles emerge through darkness, everyday. A blue sky is above us and a blue sea is beside us. The green Earth we live on is a miracle in itself. As the Earth spins on its axis, we have a brand new day, and are given another gracious 24 hours.

Per minute, 255 births are given. Just the raw reality that you are alive is miracle. Your heart beats, lungs expand, eyes blink, skin regenerates, blood pumps throughout your body. You inhale oxygen and exhale carbon monoxide. Just think about all that your body does. You are a miracle.

This holiday season, I challenge my readers to reflect. Reflect the past, present, and stir into the future. It is in our reflection, our creativity flows naturally. The seasons change allowing nature to run its perfect course, cycling on its own. We have traditioned into a holiday season, appreciating birth and mourning loss and finding peace. Everything dates back to a particular time frame and it is miraculous.

1. People battle and beat Cancer:

The language of cancer is loaded. When you are diagnosed, well-wishers tell you that you can beat this, that it is merely a blip in what will be a long, fruitful life. People speak of the gifts of cancer; the lessons learned, the good that comes from the bad.

The cancer marketing machine uses this spin on feel-good cancer as well. Images of women linking arms as they “beat cancer,” inspires the raising of millions of dollars, some for the good of research and helping people, and too much to line the corporate pockets of disease greed. Again, materialism is taking over the spot-light. The raw truth is, people do survive. My mom is a living, breathing truth of this beating.

2 Christmas's ago, I was praying for a miracle, I was praying for good health. Here we are, today.

2. Innocent children surpass adversity:

Children are living in poor conditions. In war-zones, in poverty, in homeless shelters. These innocent, pure children still use imagination and creativity to live a childhood. Images of Aleppo children playing in bomb-craters, display an array of adversity.

If you're reading this article, you are reading it through a social media portal. Thus, you are using technology to do so. Holding your phone, tablet or sitting by a computer/laptop. You have a roof over your head, technology to make use of and if you can afford this luxury, I'm sure you have food in the fridge to get you by.

Remember, when it comes down to miracles, materialism is out of the picture. It is within simplicity, you find this. Think back to a battle you won. Winning is life.

3. The engagement of communication is virtual:

Yes, robots didn't take over the world...(yet)

So, you have a few, true close friends and a family that is dated back in a blood line.

Engaging with humans physically and not just through the Internet, now that, is marveling. Through emotional and physical engagements, we have a systematical form a communication, whether it's signing or speaking, we can communicate.

4. Your brain is constantly storing information:

Ever wonder how many “gigabytes” your brain could store if it were a computer? Scientists estimate that the answer would be equivalent to up to 2.5 million gigabytes of storage! That compares to the biggest hard drive to date, that is only 10,000 gigabytes. Not even a supercomputer comes slightly close to the capacity of the human brain.

5. You are you:

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
