Being a twin is the greatest gift I could have received coming into this world. Not a day goes by when I don't take a minute to appreciate having my sister by my side every minute of every day. Here are just a few reasons why I feel grateful to have a twin.
1. Spending TOO much time together just isn’t a possibility.
When it comes to friends, it can be hard to agree all of the time. Spending too much time together can be tough and liking all the same things ALL the time can be nearly impossible. Having a twin is the exact opposite, spending all your time together is an absolute MUST and liking all of the same things is just a given.
2. You can read your twin’s minds. (Just kidding, but sometimes it feels that way.)
Whether it’s deciding what we want to do that day or just knowing if the other one isn’t in a good mood, you can always count on your twin to know what you’re thinking or how you’re feeling.
3. You have someone to always push you to be your best.
Although being compared to your twin is not such a positive thing, having someone to compare yourself to and push you to keep up with is an amazing thing. Going to the gym without a twin and not having having her treadmill to look at would make for a much less productive workout.
4. You get two of everything.
My twin and I have always shared everything. From our makeup to our clothes we have always said what’s mine is yours and what’s yours is mine. That is one of the best parts of having a twin, when an everyday person would be panicking because they don’t have anything to wear, I just go walk into my twin's closet. There is nothing like having two closets, both filled with clothes that fit you perfectly.
5. You have a built-in best friend.
Life can be unfair and upsetting but for me my twin sister is my light at the end of the tunnel. If it’s just needing a hug or wanting someone to listen to me while I vent, Allie is always there to lend an ear and a hug. Words cannot describe how grateful I am to have been blessed with such an amazing person as my partner in crime. Life is just more fun with you!
