Growing up being the older sister to twins has always been one of my favorite qualities. I’m who they look up to and I always took that very seriously. The three of us are extremely close (we are literally called triplets). This is my first year being away at college and not seeing Abby and Ally everyday is hands down the hardest thing about living two hours away. I miss my two mini-me’s so much and that is why I decided to let the world know why having twin sisters is one of the best things ever!

1. You got a two for one sale.

I can clearly remember the day my mom told me that she was going to have twins. I was four and I was going to be a big sister. How exciting?! Instead of one baby sister, I got to have two! Not only did my family get two new members, we also got two new everything else and that trend has followed. Next year when they turn 16, we will be getting two more cars and at my wedding, I’ll have two bridesmaids.

2. You have two more closets to choose clothes from.

The twins are only four years younger than me, and thankfully, we are all basically around the same size. Like all sisters, we all share clothes, but we each get triple the options! There were many mornings I would get ready for school and say, “You’re both wearing my clothes.”

3. If you get tired of talking to one of them, there is always the other one.

There are some days when Abby gets on my nerves and I just want bonding time with Ally and vice versa. Everyone expects twins to be alike but they are different in every way possible. One of my favorite things is how their personalities and sense of humors differ. Being equally close to both of them allows me to be able to tell one of them to get away from me without them being offended or feel like I’m picking the other one over them.

4. You have two personal cheerleaders and advice givers.

Little sisters are the biggest supporters. Everything I do, I know they have my back or are there for a shoulder to cry on. Nothing is more loving than a big group hug between sisters. Anytime one of us needs advice the other two are the first people we run to screaming, “Help me figure out my life.” Sister advice is better than guidance from friends because there is no beating around the bush. We tell it like it is because we truly don’t want to see one of us get hurt.

5. Even when they annoy the crap out of you, they are your two best friends.

Some days I want to strangle them and the next all I want is to cuddle. We have our ups and downs, but ultimately they are my best friends. I have two people who love me more than a fat kid loves chocolate cake and I wouldn’t trade that for the world. Having twin sisters has been a blast so far and I’m so excited to see what other adventures the three of us go through as not only as sisters, but also as best friends.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
