I am so thrilled to get back to school. I will see my friends who have become family and get back into my routine soon. Once we move in- winter will be right around the corner. While the picture to this article makes winter look beautiful and inviting, it never looks like that. It normally looks gross and dirty like this picture below:
As beautiful as this picture may seem, here are the reasons that I, and most others, dread the winter.
1. Snow.Okay who in the world really loves snow? It gets all slushy, then if it gets too cold it'll get icy on the roads. If you park outside and it snows then you have to dig your car out. You have to shovel a pathway outside so you don't fall. Snow is just such an inconvenience. Seriously––I can live without snow.
2. It's cloudy. At least in Ohio. Majority of the winter it's pretty grey and really puts a damper to your day. Instead of it being sunny and 75 or 60 with a nice breeze, it's 30 degrees, snow is getting into your boots and it looks like it's the middle of night.
3. It gets darker earlier. In the summer. Your day lasts a pretty long time. The sun doesn't go down until around 9PM. Where as in the winter the sun goes down so early. Winter is tough because you wake up in the dark and you get home in the dark. It makes me miss summer.
4. Normally its super cold outside, but then the second you get inside, it's too hot.As much as I love layers, I hate winter layers. I'm always either too hot or too cold. There is rarely ever an in-between.
5. Cold season.I normally get colds in the winter. It's really cold, I need to walk outside to get to my classes and such, so therefore I get sick. I really don't like winter, but even more than that––I hate being sick. There is nothing worse. For whatever reason though––I normally associate being sick with the winter.
