5 Reasons Cats Are Better Than Dogs

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am 100 percent a cat person, I love cats! So hoping to extend the love, I thought I would make a list of five reasons cats are better than dogs, and hopefully, I can convince you to get one of your own.

1.) They love redecorating!

If there’s anything I love about cats it is definitely their knack for interior design. I mean, I love decorating (ask me anything about any show on HGTV and I promise, I got you) but cats just have this special thing for it. The way they stealthily slide your vases off the counter into a neat, wet, pile of deathly glass on the floor is just remarkable. Don’t even get me started on the way they hide things under your bed! They truly are creatures with a gift if I ever saw one.

2.) They shower you with constant love and attention.

I’ve been around cats my whole life and I can confidently say that they absolutely, do not ignore you. They are the most loving animals I have ever had the privilege of coming in contact with. They don’t hiss or scratch, and they definitely don’t ninja dodge your touch when you try to pet them. If you’re thinking about getting a furry companion that will shower you with affection, cats are definitely the right way to go.

3.) They leave you presents!

There is no animal more generous than a cat. Even better than a boyfriend, they bring you gifts without asking! I love coming home to a nice gift every now and then, just something that reminds me I’m loved. From what I experienced, cats love giving! They’re the Santa of the animal kingdom. I love finding puke hairballs under the dining room table. That’s a gift that can’t be replicated. It’s really personal, straight from your furry friend. Oh, and if you have an outside cat you are a lucky one! Your little bundle of love will also bring you cute little birds and small rodents to spice it up!

4.) They’re always up for a good time.

They’re night owls, cats never sleep! If you’re someone with a lot of energy and an upbeat life, cats are just the right fit for you. These small felines never nap, they’re constantly going. All they want to do is play all day so I hope you have enough energy! Cats love to be sociable so take them out with you to the park or the beach. It would be a great way to tire out yourself and you cuddly friend, who otherwise would probably be up all night.

5.) They’re great for people with allergies.

Unlike dogs, cats never shed ridiculous amounts of fur. I am a person with really bad allergies. Usually, they’re seasonal but sometimes animal hair just sends me on a sneezing spree. If you’re anything like me, you should undoubtedly get a cat. They don’t shed nearly as much as some other pets I know, and their hair is really easy to clean up if they do! It doesn’t stick to anything it just falls right onto the floor waiting to be swept right up. So if you hate allergies and cleaning, this should be a selling spot for you!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
