Yes, I understand that it is the beginning of October. Most people at this point are starting to plan out what they are going to do for Halloween. I however, know what I am going to do for Halloween, so my main focus now is looking forward to Christmas and the holiday season. Here are five reasons why I cannot wait for Christmas.

1. I Get To Spend Time With My Family

My family lives in New York, so when I get the time to go up there and spend time with them it really is the best time of the year. It is a nice little vacation away from my life back home, where I have to worry about working and other various responsibilities that comes with being an adult.

2. 25 Days of Christmas on Freeform (ABC Family)

It doesn't matter that I am 19 years old, spending my time binge watching Christmas movies makes me so excited for the holidays. Although, let's be honest there have been times during the summer even where I was watching Christmas movies and wishing that it was closer than it is.

3. Christmas Music

I spend a lot of time starting in November and sometimes even earlier than that listening to Christmas music because it just makes me so happy. I even make Christmas music the alarm on my phone to wake me up. There is just something about Christmas music that makes everything seem so perfect and peaceful.

4. Spending Time With My Friends

Since I am a college student who chose to go away for school, spending time with my friends is a very limited thing since we all chose our own paths after graduating high school. It is always exciting to go back home and catch up with my friends from high school, some of whom I have known way before high school even started. It is always amazing to hear the different stories and struggles that we have faced and to truly see how much they have (or haven't) grown up since we graduated high school.

5. The Presents

It is not so much about getting presents, but rather giving presents. I love seeing someone's face when they get a present that they wanted or something that is sentimental or heartfelt. When I was a kid, I cared more about the material things than the concept of Christmas, which I am glad to say that I have grown out of that phase.

Christmas is a wonderful time no matter how old you are or how much money you have. When the time comes, make sure that you put your family first and not get distracted by the commercialism of Christmas.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
