As the busiest time of the year is quickly approaching, what better to do with your time than sit around and watch Netflix? The show Black Mirror currently has three seasons up on Netflix. The episodes each deal with a different story, different characters, and different situations. However, they all center around the same theme: a future run solely on technology and the perils that come along with its progress. Not yet convinced? Well, here are another five reasons as to why you should tune in to this gold mine of a show.

1. Get woke

Think that addiction to your social media accounts is no big deal? Believe the future holds wonderful things in store that won't alter our ability to function as humans in any way? WELL THINK AGAIN! This show accurately portrays the worst-case scenarios in the development of technology. In this roundabout future, the physics of death, the idea of reality, and the perception of everyday life become mere holograms and computers. Your social standing online becomes more important than who you are as a person. People learn to distrust themselves and put their only trust in computers and, oh gosh, doesn't this all sound scarily familiar in some way (wink wink)? So, if you're looking for a show that can really open your eyes to the world around you, queue it up.

2. Awesome actors

On top of its amazing plots and storylines, this show is full of amazing actors from some of your favorite shows and movies. People such as John Hamm of Mad Men, Toby Kebbell from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and even Michael Kelly from House of Cards. These phenomenal actors do a wonderful job of portraying this utopian/dystopian future.

3. Satisfies that thriller craving

While this show is extremely awakening and informative, it does so in a frightening way. Many of the episodes include graphic deaths, horrifying amounts of government control, and technologies that severely affect the characters psychologically. If you're looking for a fright, and traditional horror isn't your taste, this will surely spook you, as well as leave you thinking.

4. Along with that mystery craving

Along with its exciting and thrilling aspects, this show will keep surprising you until the very end of each episode. What starts off as complete confusion makes you think you know what's going on only to find out in the end that you never really did. The show itself includes qualities of both Law and Order SVU and The X Files with a futuristic/technological twist.

5. British accents

And last, but certainly not least, the vast majority of characters in the show have British accents! Super fun for those of you anglophiles out there, and for those who don't care for the accents, you still have four good reasons to watch the show, so go and do it!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
