5 B-Rated Horror Movies To Watch This October
ScreenRant

Growing up I never saw normal horror movies. My family would watch old classics, and B-Rated films from the 50's and 60's. This gave me a great appreciation for the genre, and many of the cult classics that aren't considered very good by critics. Still, even though movies like Bela Lugosi's Dracula have gained fame and cult followings in the many decades since their release, there are even more "bad" movies that deserve to be seen. So here is a list of my top 5 B-rated horror movies to watch this October:

1. The Terror

Starring Boris Karloff and Jack Nicholson this movie centers around an old man, a young woman, and a bird. Nicholson is the charismatic young adventurer who can't leave a mystery and young woman alone and that leads to trouble in the creepy old castle where the old man lives. Death, murder, mystery, and romance come together to make this a very interesting movie to watch.

2. House on Haunted Hill

Now you might have seen the modern version of this that came out back in 1999, but this is the original from 1959. Starring Vincent Price, the movie centers on a millionaire who purchases a house known for having it's inhabitants show up dead after their first night living there. He invites 5 people to join him and his wife for one night in the house, with a reward of 10 grand if they stay and survive.

3. The Raven

Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, and Jack Nicholson team up in this movie based (albeit loosely) on the Edgar Allan Poe poem of the same name. Basically, a magician has been turned into a raven, and must seek help from a retired sorcerer to reverse the curse.

4. The Last Man on Earth

Again, you have probably heard of if not seen the modern remake of this, I Am Legend starring Will Smith, but the original still does it better. Vincent Price stars in this movie about a scientist whose world is literally turned upside-down by a mysterious virus that is reminiscent of the black plague...only this disease creates zombies.

5. Dracula

Ah yes, the grand-daddy of all b-rated horror films that did NOT deserve the rating! Bela Lugosi's Dracula is the ultimate cult classic, and it is nearly impossible for you to look at anything relating to vampires, and not see this movies influence. Go, watch, I'm not good at talking about this movie without spoiling it. Enjoy!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
