5 Questions I Want Answered by Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

When I first discovered the wonder that was Gilmore Girls, I thought I had found the best show on the entire planet. I loved the witty banter between Mother and Daughter do, Lorelei and Rory, as well as all of the kooky characters portrayed in town of Stars Hollow. There was someone that everyone could relate to, even on a small level.

I found myself pulled towards Rory, a person who was known as a book nerd, and everyone loved her for it. Her boyfriends were attracted to her brain as much as they were attracted to her physical features, she had goals she wanted to accomplish with her life, and she worked hard to make those goals a reality. She was a great role model for someone during those impressionable teenage years.

When Gilmore Girls era ended, I still re-watched the episodes when they were on TV and even had a few marathons with a friend who was just as obsessed with me. However, my love had started to die out, until Netflix announced some of the best news I have heard all year.

Gilmore Girls is getting a revival, four 90 minute episodes will premier on October 25, and I could not be more excited.

While I am anxiously awaiting for the revival to be available to stream, my brain has been swarming with questions that I want answered. Here are the 5 main questions i want answered during the Gilmore Girls revival.

5. What is Going on With Rory's Career?

Season seven ended with Rory being offered a position to follow Barack Obama around the campaign trail. Since the show ended, Obama has served in the oval office for 8 years. Did Rory's career take off with all of the writing she was doing on the winning presidential nominee? Did she ever meet Obama in person? Did she woo him with her journalism skills?

4. What State is Rory's Love Life In?

At the end of season seven, Rory rejected a marriage proposal from her boyfriend Logan and they went their separate ways. But was that the end? Did Rory meet up with her former boyfriends while on the Obama campaign trail? Are any of them still in her life? Will she ultimately choose one of them, or none of them?

3. What State is Lorelei's Life Life In?

Lorelei infamously got back together with Luke after her failed marriage with Rory's father Christopher at the end of season seven. Have Lorelei and Luke continued their relationship? Are they no longer together?

2. What is Rory's Father Christopher Up to Now?

Christopher was always sort of absent in the series until the later season when he began having a better relationship with Rory and Lorelei (they even got married! Important to remember!) But what is he up to now? Has he moved on since he and Lorelei got a divorce? And what about his daughter, Gigi? Where is she now?

1. How Will Edward Herrmann's Death Be Handled?

Sadly, a few months ago, the actor who played Rory's grandfather, Richard Gilmore, passed away. Mr. Gilmore was always a staple in the series, surprising the audience with his kind heart and his incredible business sense. He seemed to inspire Rory and really appreciate to have her around, and the audience could see that he very much loved his wife, Emily, and his daughter, Lorelei. It will be different to not have Mr. Gilmore around during Friday Night Dinners. I want to know how the show will handle Edward Herrmann's passing, and how the absence of Mr. Gilmore will affect the rest of the characters.

November 25th cannot come fast enough! Make sure to check out Gilmore Girls: A Year In A Life when it becomes available on Netflix!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
