For many college students, we have been at home for a couple weeks now. And going from complete freedom to being under the watchful eye of our parents is one of the hardest things I know I will have to deal with. It's not easy giving up some of the freedom that college has given me. Here are six things that I heard at least twenty times now in my short time home.

1. "Are you going to clean that up?"

Yes, I will. Calm down please. I'm not four anymore. Just because I don't do it right away doesn't mean I won't do it.

2. "When are you coming home?"

I don't know mother. I'm sure I'll let you know if it's past midnight or so. And I'll try to be quiet... Or try at least.

3. "Why are you still sleeping?! It's one in the afternoon!"

I can't change my sleep schedule in a week. I was at work all day and I'm tired. Besides why does it matter what time I wake up?

4. "Why are you eating now?"

Because I'm hungry?

5. "Why don't you get out of bed, and do something productive?"

Well it's summer and I've been been productive all year. If I'm not working then I'm going to do something that I enjoy. And in this case, it's lying in my bed watching Netflix.

6. "How were your grades this semester?"

Well, if I haven't told you, that probably means they weren't good!

I promise I remember all the house rules Mom and Dad, but I am an adult now, and there's really no need for all the extra attention. I may not get all the freedom I want coming back from college for the summer, but please be understanding if I forget a rule or forget to shoot a text!
