There are many different forms of activities someone can do to pass time and one of them is playing video games. There are many different kinds of games like problem solving, fantasy, sports, adventure, ect. The nice part about playing a game is that it brings a person a source of entertainment and creates a connection toward the characters and the world the creators have designed. Here are some other reasons that one should play a video game:

5. Boosts creativity

All games have their own beautiful and unique worlds that the gamer is allowed to become apart of. Like reading a book, video games can help people visualize a story-line and gather ideas for their own stories (That is if they plan on becoming a writer). It can even help an artist by allowing them to redesign their favorite character or helping them form their own new style of drawing. Games can increase kids' imaginations as well. When I was younger, my neighbors, brother, and I would recreate different video games we played and act them out when we were playing outside.

4. Improve the brain

Playing video games is fun, but it can also improve the brain. In this article it explains that games help reaction time and hand-eye coordination. They help with focusing as well, because the gamer needs to know when to react to press a button and see what is happening in the game. A first shooter game is good for hand-eye coordination, because the gamer needs to keep track of his opponent and where to aim. In this study, it is shown that people who play video games are better at perceptual tasks than those who don't play games. There are a bunch of different strategy games where you have to think of what decisions to make next. So your brain is constantly thinking of ways to get to the next level and move farther in the story.

3. Introduce new friends

Those who play online games usually make long time friends with people they interact with or are in a guild with. Sometimes they even meet up in person, at gaming conventions. It's nice to talk to people who share the same interest as you, and understand your frustration about not being able to beat one of the bosses. It's possible to meet new people at your school or work if you notice someone who plays a video game that you do too. It's an easy way to start up a conversation with someone, and get to know them better.

2. Encourage quick thinking

Fast paced strategy games help the brain with critical thinking and processing things quicker. The more a gamer catches onto the pattern of the game or the strategy, it makes the game become easier to move onto the next part. As you go on you will be able to quickly make decisions on how to defeat one of the monsters and what weapons would be best to use.

1. Help with depression and anxiety

When playing video games you allow the mind to focus on a goal. People want to beat the level they are stuck on or explore new areas in the game. This stimulates the brain to focus on what's on the screen and not on negative things. After reaching your goal it is rewarding and makes the person motivated to try another game or finish the one they are playing. It helps with anxiety, because it will let you stop stressing about your day. The game doesn't have to be complex either, it could be as simple as a cell phone app.Overall it lets you be able to sit down and forget about your worries. This will lead your body into feeling relaxed.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
