1. An Escape

Whether you’re stressed because of unnecessary drama, a class or exam that you’re afraid of not passing or maybe just too many thoughts in your head; you’ll always need a peaceful escape from the crazy college life. So take a breather, and look out into the what seems like never-ending-ness of the water.

2. The moon

We all love looking outside at night to see that big moon. There’s just something about seeing it glisten on the water every once in a whole when you just want to be in peace and hear the waves crash. The moon also just seems a little bigger when you’re on that beach and if you’re lucky, you’ll spot a stat or two!

3. Artsy Photos

Come on, we’re teenage/early 20 years old college students. We all have that artsy/photogenic side of us. Whether you ask a friend to take a portrait of your hair blowing in the wind while looking out toward the water for a new post or profile picture or you carve you and your best friends or significant others initials in the sand. Or yours alone because you’re an independent man/woman!

4. Perfect Study Spot

Whether you wedge yourself between a few huge rocks, bring a towel or a beach chair. Just bring a beverage, sunglasses, something to study, maybe some light music and you’ve got yourself a relaxing study spot with the wind in your hair.

5. Picnics

Who doesn’t get sick of the dining hall food every once in a while? Gather some friends, get some off-campus food, your beach essentials and have a nice picnic! A great way to relieve that stress gave fun and gather your friends together in one place at the same time!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
