5 Perks Of Being A Beauty Guru
Mirror.co.uk

Every beauty guru has their own personal style when it comes to make-up/hair. Some may prefer to do their hair and makeup in a natural, classic, bold, vintage, gothic, and even cosplay style--just to name a few. But regardless of a style, there are some things that may unite us beauty gurus.

1. We receive text/calls in need of a hair dresser

Many friends may call you in hopes that you will be able to dye, cut, and style their hair for a last minute event. In my case, this is one of the perks that I enjoy doing, especially because I do not have any cosmetology credentials. Having friends/family trust you more than a person who is more qualified is one of the perks of being a beauty guru.

2. Friends are always in need of makeup advice

What beauty items they should and should not buy is one of the main questions they ask when entering a beauty store. Us beauty gurus get a kick out of of knowing what makeup items to stay away from, and which are worth the money. A lot of the time we get looks from the people working in the store who are shocked that we know so much about this stuff.

3. Dupe alerts

Theseare always running through our head while at Ulta. Your friends may ask what drugstore makeup color is the closest shade to a high-end color, and you're more than happy to find a dupe within 30 seconds. It's actually really exciting to see the look on your friends faces when you're able to come up with a dupe.

4. Giving thanks to YouTube

Probably where most people get their knowledge from as well, YouTube is one of my main go-to websites for makeup advice and where I get my knowledge from. Without the help of other amazing makeup/hair artists out there, I wouldn't be as good as I am today. A lot of makeup gurus who are on YouTube sharing their talents with the world are helping not-so professional people become makeup gurus.

Above all else, makeup and hair has probably always been one of the biggest passions that all of us beauty gurus have in common. There's never any negative connotations that tie into this passion of ours. Even if we don't get the opportunity to help out a friend or family member all of the time, you can bet that we are tuned into YouTube watching videos on reviews, tutorials, and "is it worth the money" type of videos. Or we are reading reviews online through article posts, supporting our fellow beauty guru family!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
