If you are like me you enjoy a good cup of coffee and a great place to study. A place where there is soft cafe music playing in the background. A place where as soon as you walk in the door you can smell the coffee. I often hear people asking about what great local place offered good coffee. I thought I would share some great local coffee shops in Omaha, Nebraska.

1. Caffeine Dreams

Caffeine Dreams is a lovely and unique coffee shop located in Midtown Omaha. This coffee shop is a great large place if you want to study, chat or read your favorite book in peace. Also not to mention their amazing coffee and delicious food.

2. Well Grounded Coffee

Well Grounded Coffee is a cozy and cute coffee shop located on 24th Street. The only thing greater than the atmosphere is their cause. Ten percent of the profits go to charity waters. Charity: water is a nonprofit organization that works to ending water crisis around the world. At Well Grounded Coffee you can get great coffee and help the world all without leaving the comfort of Omaha.

3. Urban Abbey

Urban Abbey is a non-profit coffee shop located in the Old Market. This coffee shop mission is make a space where one can serve a non-profit community through selling coffee, sharing stories and taking action.

4. Mug Life

Mug life is a coffee shop located on Harney Street. This coffee shop a cozy and warm coffee shop where you can sit and enjoy some delicious Ethiopian coffee. This coffee shop will make you feel like you are part of a community.

5. Bean Smith

Bean Smith is a coffee shop located on Harney Street. This coffee shop smells just as good as their coffee tastes. You can instantly taste their freshly roasted coffee once you enter the door.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
