Netflix has recently stepped up their game in the television world and has begun creating Netflix original movies and television shows. The popularity of these originals started out a little slow, but the company has recently gained momentum with the release of many high-quality programs.

As if it was not hard enough to choose something to watch on Netflix, there are now even more great options!

There are numbers of great options, but here are five different types of Netflix originals that are the perfect study break during finals week!

1. "On My Block"

With only ten episodes released so far, "On My Block" is a great series to get away from studying with. Set in the outskirts of Los Angeles, California, this show focuses on the lives and struggle of five teenagers as they begin high school. It references many important issues that are faced in lesser-developed areas, but keeps a continual comedic feel to the show as a whole.

2. "The Honey-Moon Standup Special"

A newer release from Netflix, "The Honey-Moon Standup Special" features a married couple and their stand-up set in Austin, Texas. Natasha Leggero and Moshe Kasher come together and spread their expertise on relationships, love, and whatever else pops into their head. They use their experiences to create a hilarious and must-watch standup special.

3. "A-Typical"

Highlighting the life of Sam, an autistic teenager who has decided he is going to begin dating, "A-Typical" provides a light-hearted look into his everyday lifestyle and plans to get a girlfriend. This show gives viewers an inside look into Sam's friendships and family life, specifically his relationship with his sister. A genuine family comedy, "A-Typical" is one of the best shows I have watched in a while.

4. "Mindhunter"

A spin on the typical crime based show, "Mindhunter" offers a new angle on the job of a detective. Set in the late 1970s, this show features two detectives who take matters in to their own hands and decide to educate themselves on the mind of serial killers by doing a first-hand study on the actual serial killers. Setting the foundation for serial-killer profiling, these two detectives interview and nearly befriend serial killers as they pave their way through many past cases.

5. "Gaga: Five Foot Two"

If documentaries are your thing, you will love this one. A pop-star that is often in the media for her crazy ways, Lady Gaga is the star of this documentary film. Netflix offers a true first-hand look into to the life of this celebrity. From scenes inside her actual home, to shots of her recording her most recent album, "Gaga: Five Foot Two" gives viewers an up-close and personal look into the life of Lady Gaga.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
