Winter break is coming up and I am sure that more than a few of you will be boarding an airplane and going somewhere during your time off from school or work. These are the ten items that I think are must haves for any flight, no matter how long or short.
1. Headphones
Before I got a pair of Beats for my birthday, I would whatever cheap earbuds I used for the gym. It does not matter so much the quality, but the fact that you bring headphones on the plane. Even if you are a reader, you never know who is going to bring their sick, screaming baby on the flight and sit right behind you.
2. A Good Book
A good book is an essential for any vacation destination or trip, but I reccommend packing it in your carry-on. Technology often gives out, on-flight wifi is not always a given, and once you are done watching the 4 free episodes of Modern Family that you downloaded from iTunes, a good book will be your saving grace.
3. Cosmetic Bag
While I don't recommend wearing makeup on the actual flight, you don't have to leave the plane looking rough, heading out into a new city. I tend to keep mascara, concealer, and lip balm, in addition to makeup remover wipes and face moisturizer, in a small cosmetic bag in my carry on. If you're really into skincare, I recommend a facial mist or toner to freshen up throughout the flight.
4. Laptop or Tablet
Although I said above that technology isn't always steady, it is usually a lifesaver. I like to load up my laptop with movies and TV episodes. If you're going on vacation during the school year, the plane journey is also a great time to get any homework or reading for class done so that you are free once you get to your new location.
5. Snacks
You've probably read articles about how Miranda Kerr manages to stay looking like a supermodel during long flights. While I agree with the skincare reigme and drinking a ton of water while you're up in the air, make sure to bring some fun snacks on the plane. I use it as my time to eat things I wouldn't normally pick up, like sour gummy worms, cheesy chips, etc.
