1. Murder on the Orient Express

Based on the 1934 novel by Agatha Christie, this film seems like a classic whodunit murder mystery. What captivated me originally about this movie first was the star-studded cast attached. With names like Penelope Cruz, William Dafoe, Judi Dench, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Leslie Odom Jr, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Daisy Ridley I sincerely hope this film is as good as it looks. Kenneth Branagh directs and also stars as the detective of our mystery. This is the fourth adaptation of Christie’s novel, the first being a 1974 film, followed by a 2001 TV film, and an episode of Agatha Christie’s Poirot in 2010. I am always a sucker for beautiful cinematography, and if the movie looks anything like the trailer it will really be a gorgeous movie to watch. The film has an opening date of November 10, and I will definitely be in attendance.

2. Justice League

I have become a huge fan of superhero movies recently, and an even bigger fan of the films where we get to see multiple superheroes working together. After the release of the Wonder Woman film with Gal Gadot, I am so excited to see her again as Diana Prince. We’ll get to see a few awesome superheroes in this film besides Wonder Woman, including Batman(Ben Affleck), Superman(Henry Cavill), Aquaman(Jason Momoa), The Flash(Ezra Miller), and Cyborg(Ray Fisher). With the rising number of comic book movies that have been coming out the past few years, I am always skeptical about new ones, but I am genuinely excited to see what comes from this movie. If the movie gets me as excited as the trailer did, it’s going to be an incredibly exciting 2 hours in the movie theatre. Check it out when it premieres November 17.

3. Darkest Hour

If you’re in the mood for a movie based on true historical events, you’re probably going to love this one. Gary Oldman stars as newly assigned Prime Minister Winston Churchill in the early days of World War II. Joe Wright(Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, Hanna) directs this intense historical drama, with a script by Anthony McCarten(The Theory of Everything, Death of a Superhero, Via Satellite). Lily James also stars as Elizabeth Layton, Churchill’s personal secretary from 1941-1945. Relive the past with this intriguing new film when it comes to theaters November 22.

4. The Man Who Invented Christmas

I couldn’t make this list without throwing a Christmas movie in. Dan Stevens plays famous author Charles Dickens in this film centered around what led him to one of the most well known Christmas novels of all time, "A Christmas Carol." This is the second movie in this list that is also based off of a novel of the same name. In this film we see Charles Dickens struggling to come up with a new idea for a book, and we watch as his imagination grows and helps him to write the masterpiece we all know and love. One of Charles Dickens biggest tormenters is this movie is his own character Scrooge, played by Christopher Plummer. I think this movie looks like a great time for all ages, and will be a great way to get into the Christmas spirit. See this film when it premieres on November 22, just in time for the holidays.

5. Call Me By Your Name

Another film based on a novel of the same name, this looks like another great new film. Directed by Luca Guadagnino, this movie takes place in 1983 Italy and is a love story between two young men. Many love stories in Hollywood have been done over and over again, and have made me sick of seeing anything with a romantic plot. But this looks like an interesting new take on the old romance coming of age story. Oliver(Armie Hammer) comes to live with Elio’s (Timothee Chalamet) family while in Italy studying. From what I have heard so far about this film, you should bring a box of tissues with you to the theatre. If you’re looking for a new and different love story, I suggest seeing this film when it hits theaters on November 24.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
